CDI SPECIALIST - HIM - Health Information Management
The Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist is responsible for conducting clinically based concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records. This review is to evaluate that the clinical documentation is reflective of quality of care outcomes and reimbursement compliance for acute care services provided. The CDI Specialist will work closely with the medical staff to facilitate appropriate clinical documentation of patient care. Active participation in team meetings and education of hospital/medical staff in the CDI process are key responsibilities.
Medical Graduate, PA, RN, LVN, RHIT, or CCS with current valid license/certification and relevant education would qualify.
CCS Certification is preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of clinical experience in an acute care setting or 5 years of acute care inpatient coding.
Prior Case Management experience is desirable.
Possession of a valid PA, RN, LVN license OR
Certification as RHIT or CCS
If a clinician - Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
