Certified Nurse Assistant - MVMC Med/Surg
Under general direction of Clinical Nurse Manager, and/or RN/LVN assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area.
The incumbent performs a full range of tasks and work under direction within a framework of established procedures. At this level, incumbent work with only occasional instruction or assistance. Work is normally reviewed only on completion and for overall results
Completion of accredited C N A program.
Six months experience or some job related formal training. Six to twelve months experience in acute care setting preferred.
Possession of an appropriate, valid California certificate for nursing assistant;
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Hospital established policies quality assurance program, patient safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures.
Common medical equipment and instruments used in a hospital setting.
Manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgment/action which could result in undesirable patient outcome.
Follow policy and procedures of setting assigned.
Understand and follow verbal and written directions.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
Work effectively under stress and in emergency situations
Keep simple records.
